People always ask me how I got into travel.

It wasn’t some dramatic “quit my job and backpack the world” story. It was actually much more practical than that.
I became a travel agent because I was already the person everyone came to.
- If someone was going to Jamaica, they called me.
- If someone was debating between Mexico or Punta Cana, they texted me.
- If a flight looked “too cheap to be true,” they sent it to me to analyze.
And I realized something: I don’t just enjoy travel – I enjoy figuring it out.
I like understanding what’s actually worth the money. I like knowing which resorts are high energy and which are calm.
I like catching the small details people don’t think about like flight times that ruin your first day, or resorts that look beautiful online but don’t match your vibe in real life.
At some point it clicked: if I’m already doing this, why not build something from it?
I Don’t Just Love Travel — I Love What Travel Does for People
Travel changes people. It resets you. It gives you space. It reminds you that life isn’t just work, routines, and responsibilities. And I’ve seen firsthand how powerful that is.
I’ve helped couples plan honeymoons they’ll talk about for the rest of their lives. I’ve helped families take trips they didn’t think they could afford. I’ve helped busy professionals finally use their PTO instead of letting it sit there.
A lot of people think travel is out of reach – financially or logistically.
My job is showing them it’s not. That part matters to me more than anything.
I Actually Care About the Details
Some people book trips.
I build them.
There’s a difference.
I want to know:
- Are you waking up early on vacation or sleeping in?
- Do you want quiet luxury or a party atmosphere?
- Are you celebrating something?
- Are you overwhelmed and just need someone to handle it?
Because a “good” trip isn’t just about the destination. It’s about how it fits your life.
And honestly, I like the responsibility of getting that right.
Why I Still Love This
Being a travel agent isn’t about pretty Instagram photos.
It’s about:
- Taking stress off someone’s plate
- Saving them time
- Helping them spend their money wisely
- Making sure they don’t land somewhere and think, “This isn’t what I expected.”
I became a travel agent because I’m wired to research, compare, plan, and optimize.
But I stay in it because I love hearing, “That was exactly what we needed.”
That’s the part that makes it worth it.
