Aruba
Aruba, also known as “One Happy Island” is definitely one of my favorite Caribbean destinations. From the beautiful beaches to the friendly people, there’s so much to love about this amazing country. Aruba is the perfect destination no matter the occasion. I took a girls trip with my cousin and we both talk about this trip ‘til this day. The natural pool, the beach bars, shopping, food and more….what’s not to love?!
The highlight of our trip was definitely the Island Ultimate Jeep Safari Tour. This is a great way to explore the island’s beauty and have some fun doing so!

Bahamas
Bahamas is one of those destinations that you visit and you feel like you’ve stepped into a postcard. Known for its famous beaches with white sand and crystal-clear waters, it’s no wonder Bahamas is ranked as a top travel destination year after year. We visited Nassau and decided to spend our 4 days in Bahamas at the Margaritaville Beach Resort. I love Margaritaville resorts because there’s a little something for everyone when it comes to amenities. Children and teens can enjoy the plunge pool, Fins Up Water Park, and can test their balance on the FlowRider. Meanwhile, adults can grab a drink at the bar and head to the adults only infinity pool.

Cabo Verde (Cape Verde)
Okay, maybe I’m a little bit biased since I am 100% Cape Verdean, but I swear Cabo Verde is one of West Africa’s best kept secrets!
Cabo Verde, an archipelago in the central Atlantic Ocean, is a hidden gem often overlooked by travelers. Comprised of ten volcanic islands, this West African nation boasts a unique blend of African and Portuguese influences.
With its beautiful landscapes and rich culture, it’s no wonder so many fall in love with this country after visiting. My first visit to Cabo Verde was when I was 10 years old, so when I got the opportunity to take my 15 year old son in November 2022, I was beyond thrilled!
The country has greatly evolved since I visited as a young girl but one thing that remained the same was the connections you make with the people, the locals that live there. When you visit Cabo Verde, you’re treated like family. Whether you’re visiting Cha de Caldeiras to see the volcano in Fogo or strolling through Cidade Velha in Praia, you always feel safe and welcomed.

Cayman Islands
If you’re looking for some of the bluest waters you’ve ever laid your eyes on, then let me tell you about Grand Cayman Islands. Of all the beaches I’ve been to, this one definitely takes the cake! Seven Mile Beach and Governor’s Beach are just some of the amazing beaches you will find on the island. The food is absolutely amazing! Restaurants like Peppers, Heritage Kitchen, and Coconut Joe’s will definitely leave you wanting more. Whole snapper, jerk chicken, and conch fritters were just some of my favorite bites on the island.
The best part about my trip to Grand Cayman was the great price I found for our American Airlines flight – $350 round trip per person…YES, PLEASE! Tickets for this beautiful destination can get costly, so make sure to use sites like Skyscanner.com or Hopper to help find some of the best deals.

Cuba
Cuba, oh Cuba…you were so good to us! In May 2023, in support of the Cuban people, my cousins and I spent 4 nights in Havana. From the moment we touched down, we knew it would be a trip to remember. The people of Cuba are some of the most resilient people I’ve ever met. No matter their circumstances, you will still find them smiling and ready to welcome you with open arms. We stayed at a beautiful home right outside Havana in an area called, “Jaimanitas”. Our host made us feel right at home, especially with her home cooked meals (additional charge) that were some of the best meals we ate on the island.

Dominican Republic
Whether you’re visiting Punta Cana, Santiago, or one of the other islands, Dominican Republic offers a diverse and unforgettable experience for every traveler. I have visited Dominican Republic twice and both times were memorable. This Caribbean gem has plenty of all-inclusive hotels to choose from. Places like the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino or the Excellence Punta Cana are not just hotels; they’re experiences. Whether you’re craving beach vibes or a dose of local culture, the DR’s got you covered.
